Have you noticed a Twitter avatar with a small image of underlined Internet Explorer logo, Twitter bird, or simply a yellow ribbon? If you did, you probably know that these people support some kind of cause using new Twitter application called Twibbon.
For those who still do not understand what it's all about, I will try to explain it in a simple manner. Have you ever supported some politician and wore a badge with their picture? Have you ever had a red ribbon to support people with HIV? The Twitter ribbons are something similar.
TWItter + riBBON = TWIBBON
The most popular cause supported on Twitter was the Iranian president election and it was turning your Twitter avatar green. The same system is used by Twibbon.com where you can select 1 cause you want to support. For example, "I ♥ Twitter", "IE6 must die", "DDOS sucks", "Supernatural", "I love Harry Potter", "#iamthemob" etc.
But what about the poker causes? There are several, but only 3 were functional:
I have added one more – Poker 2.0 for all poker and web 2.0 fans
Others do not work very well because of the mistakes made when adding the picture (I made a mistake when adding it as well, so please ignore the Twibbon with quotes). Unfortunately, the poker causes do not have many supporters (I hope you will join one of them after reading this article).
A person can only use Twibbon once. It is very simple. Just select the Twibbon you like and login with your Twitter username and password. A little badge will appear on your Twitter avatar automatically. In order to remove it you need to change your Twitter image so make sure you save your original avatar on your computer before making a Twibbon to be able to change it back once you get bored of the icon on your picture.
I hope more and more poker brands will create their Twibbon's and allow their loyal fans to show what they admire most in the poker industry. Webmasters can even add the special badge to their websites to encourage people adding their Twibbon. Something like this:
